dunkin

Dunkin’ Donuts is coming back to the metro with a new Overland Park location and more to follow.

Area franchisee, Verona Key LLC, plans to open its first store at 7720 W. 151st St. later this year, with 14 more scheduled.

In addition, Dunkin’ Donuts’ is still seeking new and existing franchisees to develop a minimum of 10 restaurants in Kansas City.

Dunkin’ Donuts development of Kansas City is part of a steady and strategic growth strategy, which includes expanding in existing markets while entering new cities across the country to help direct the company’s future growth.

I brew DD every morning, but it just doesn't compare to getting it in the store. Can't wait to hear where the other locations will be. Crossing my fingers for a western Olathe one!

I heard more than a year ago that DD was returning to KC. I assumed it would be in JoCo (I live in eastern Jackson Co) with expectations of it on Metcalf somewhere between 75th and 95th. But Stanley!!! As I said, far out. Waaaaay far out. Guess I will have to wait for the other stores to open.

Guess none of you are old enough to remember DD in the area (Independence for one location) near 23rd and Noland about 40 years ago. Lasted a few months only. The sad little building is still there.

This is great! Southern Johnson County was in major need of a good donut shop. Can't wait for it to open.

Dunk's is the way to go, so much better than that glazed junk at the other big donut shop, and the coffee is wicked good!

How the heck is 151st Street considered part of the KC area? It's a 45 minute drive from most of the population!

This location will open just s few blocks from Starbucks, too. (It's going to expand and share the old QuikTrip building that currently houses Stanley Dry Cleaners.)

Come to think of it, I don't think it's possible to get more than 4 blocks from a Starbucks anywhere near civilization.

To the comment by awesome....SO TRUE! Guys don`t like the skinny booty, they want `em big and juicy! Or as the song says..."I like big butts and I cannot lie"

Although I wish they'd put one a bit closer to civilization.

you don't have to get fatter just because you are going to DD. Get off your high horse. This place is way cheaper than Starbucks and still have a great cup of black coffee! You must be a spoiled Johnson Countain who likes to spend $5 on a cup of coffee. I'd rather have mine for $2.

THIS IS SO GREAT! I became addicted to DD when I visited New York in January! I was there every day and I even buy their coffee to make at home! This is great news! I'm so there! Even if it is a bit of a drive for me in the mornings.

Not really a fan of DD so I could care less. Just adding more options for people to make themselves even fatter! Good Job!j

I love EVERYTHING about Dunkin Donuts! I have been waiting for this kind of news to come out. Made my day.

Yippee! I love Dunkin Donuts coffee. On the east coast, they're in every neighborhood (like Starbucks is here) and I went through DD withdrawals when I moved to KC 7 years ago.

I really miss them. Drive to St. Joe every once in a while to get them. Hope they put one in Independence, MO soon.

Free Financial Advice

4/9/09

Question:

BRB asks

Who do I talk to for financial advice that does not involve them trying to sell me something? We are 60 and 59, have a 200,000 annuity, are 60-70,000 credit card debt, have a house that is half paid for,own a condo in fl that is not paying for itself, have a good credit rating, not behind on anything, not facing foreclosure, wife on disability, husband still working, Want to pay off credit cards, but don't know how. Should we use part of annuity? I just want to know who to ask for help. Thanks

Answer:

It looks like you would be well served by a comprehensive financial plan which would address your concerns and give you a clear picture of where you are at financially. Financial advisors are paid in two different ways. Some receive commissions for the products they sell you. There are also fee only financial planners who work for you for a set fee and sell no products. In their case you know exactly how much it will cost you up front. It would also be preferable to use a financial planner who is a Certified Financial Planner.
